| Personally I think, that the sims 2 and 3 both have individual perks and cons.
I like the sims2 because it has more downloadable content (customized) and I like the sims 3 because the graphics are slightly better. | |

Pros.
Expansion packs; Pets, Apartment Life, Bon Voyage, University,etc.
Downloadable content.
Cons.
Sims 3:
Pros.
Graphics.
Complicated characters.
Everyone ages with you, making it more realistic.
Following Sims all over the town.
Customizable content from clothing to walls to curtains.
Cons.
Sims are not as aesthetically appealing as Sim 2.
Sims' appearance are not very customizable except for apparel. | |

| For me it's Sims 3. Simply because of how much it's advanced since the first one. The details, the graphics and the extent of customization makes it pure win. | |
